SCPRD Summer of Fun Information Both public swimming pools will be opening Wednesday through Sunday, 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, for open swim. One pool is on Barlow Street; the other one is right behind the SCPRD office on Rucker Street. SCPRD also offers swimming lessons from Monday through Thursday at the Deriso Swimming Pool on the campus of Georgia Southwestern. SCPRD partners with the Americus Blue Tide to offer the swim lessons. The SCPRD will be hosting a summer day camp from June 7 through July 23, with the exception of the week of July 4th. The six weeks long day camp is for kids ages 5-12, and runs from Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Both breakfast and lunch will be provided. They will take part in aquatic activities, such as the Splash Pad. Participants will play games in the gym, do arts and crafts, and other activities. Every hour activities are rotated among the different groups.
