Online Manual - Fee Reduction Policy

The Sumter County Parks and Recreation Department wishes for every family to have the opportunity to participate in the programs regardless of financial status. All of our programs are operated on a shared cost philosophy and therefore, a registration fee is charged for each program and must be paid at the time of registration. A reduced fee policy is in effect for all residents of Sumter County, Georgia. To qualify for a fee reduction, an applicant MUST provide proof of household income by providing:
- The Previous Year's IRS Tax Return
- If the applicant did not file a tax return in the previous year, a work history from the Georgia Department of Labor
- A Social Security Administration Statement of Benefits
- Proof of Housing Authority Residency
The participant MUST be named on the TAX return, SSI Benefit Statement, or Housing Authority Documentation. If not listed on these forms, the applicant must have proof of legal guardianship.
The SCPRD will reduce the fee to all Sumter County, Georgia residents who qualify. THERE ARE NO FULL FEE WAIVERS available. A resident who qualifies will receive a $20.00 discount off of the normal registration fee. If you believe that you qualify for a fee reduction, please take the time to complete an application and submit the required documentation.
