Mission Statement

ATHLETIC MISSION STATEMENT

To provide organized youth sports programs in a safe environment to all of the children of Sumter County, Georgia, regardless of physical ability.

ATHLETIC DIVISION GOALS

To introduce children, beginning at the age of five (5) to a variety of sports. Beginner sports will be in a non threatening, less competitive, instructional environment, stressing basic skill development, and the importance of making sports fun.

To set a minimum playing requirement for all leagues to ensure that each child is given the opportunity to put their skills into practice through organized game situations.

To be progressively competitive as a child advances in age and to act as a feeder system to our local school systems and their athletic programs.

To teach both young people and their parents that it is important to play to win, but that it is just as important to understand how to lose. Our motto will be: "Winning More Than The Game."

EFFORTS

Organize beginner sports programs for five and six year olds that offer no post season play, and reward each child for their participation.

Implementing written rules of the game that are available to all players, coaches and parents.

Emphasizing and closely monitoring the playing time of each player with a penalty system for those who do not follow the rules.

Evaluating each program to ensure that ample opportunity is being given to ALL citizens.

Not only allowing, but encouraging children with physical and mental limitations to be an equal participant in the youth sports programs.

Working with local school athletic officials to make our programs a feeder system to the scholastic levels of play.
